5 Prospective Careers in the Field of Artificial Intelligence

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into our daily lives has become widespread, offering support in boosting productivity, decision-making, and automating tedious tasks. Its reach extends across diverse industries, from healthcare to transportation and art.

In this piece, I will provide my insights into the promising careers of the future that are associated with recent developments in AI. While some of these job opportunities are not yet available, I predict they will soon be in high demand. As such, being an early adopter in this field could yield great benefits.

Neuro/AI – Artists

In 2022, advancements in the field of image generation using neural networks were made, leading to the emergence of networks such as DALL-E, MidJourney, and Stable Diffusion. These models allow users to input a text request, such as “a cat looking at the moon in the style of Van Gogh,” and generate an image in the desired style with virtually no limitations, limited only by one’s imagination.

As for salary, it is believed to be highly dependent on one’s talent. These models can be used to create logos, art, and avatars on demand, with rates ranging from $10 to $150 for similar pieces. However, achieving a high-quality result may take hours of effort, such as finding the right description or editing the image in Photoshop.

Prompt Engineers

A “prompt” is a specific text request that is used to direct a neural network. In the case of image generation networks, it has been discovered that adding words like “4K,” “ultrarealism,” or “detailed” to the prompt can enhance the quality of the output image. There are now resources available, such as books, that provide guidance on how to create effective prompts. If you have expertise in a specific area, like photography, you can incorporate professional terms or the names of famous artists into your prompts. Some individuals have even started selling unique and captivating prompts to AI artists.

In terms of salary, this is still a niche field. However, if you have a talent for generating ideas in text form, you can use this skill to create successful prompts that you can sell to AI artists.

ML Engineer / ML Scientist

It wouldn’t be fair to neglect this particular field. It is due to the hard work and expertise of AI researchers and developers that these cutting-edge neural networks exist. Nevertheless, breaking into this career can be challenging, particularly if you have aspirations to create and train new models for unique tasks. To succeed in this field, one must have a solid foundation in mathematics, Python, algorithms, and machine learning libraries. Although this career is not recent, we may see an increase in job opportunities and salaries as advancements in AI bring about transformational changes in various industries.

Content Moderators

Moderators are currently in place, but their demand may grow with the rise of content generated by Artificial Intelligence. Imagine if someone created thousands or even millions of offensive images in various styles and started uploading them to social media platforms. This is why there may be a need for specialized moderators. Of course, some of the content is already filtered using computer vision algorithms, but determining the level of offensiveness for certain user groups remains a challenge.

There is likely to be a greater demand for moderators who can provide subjective opinions on the higher-level entities, such as whether a picture is funny or beautiful.

However, it’s important to note that companies will still have to thoroughly review a significant amount of content, after which they may need to seek support from psychologists.

AI Creators/Bloggers

Earlier this year, it was reported that there have been advancements in the creation of high-quality images through neural networks. Additionally, models for producing quality and logical text have also improved, as demonstrated by chatGPT. In the future, it’s possible that AI will be utilized for video content creation. However, even now, there is still plenty of room for creativity and blogging. Virtual bloggers have been around for some time, but now, even live bloggers can have neural networks write posts and create realistic photo content with their faces without leaving their home. Agencies may also emerge that will bring previously unavailable or costly ideas to life.

The year 2022 saw a significant advancement in AI, making it accessible to the masses by providing high-quality content. In the coming years, the ability to use similar tools will likely provide a strong competitive advantage.
