Afghan engineers presented a supercar

The Mada 9, a prototype of the first supercar developed by Afghan engineers, was presented after five years of development. The national Afghan television channel ToloNews reported the release of the prototype. Thirty engineers from the Kabul Professional and Technical Institute and designers from the Afghan studio ENTOP worked on it. The Taliban group, the official representative of the controlling power in the country, expressed pride in the development and thanked the Ministry of Professional Education for their work.

Daily Mail reports that the Mada 9 features a modified Toyota Corolla engine and a composite body, while not disclosing any other technical features. The supercar may also have some off-road characteristics and electric transmission, which are attributed to its potential adaptation to Afghanistan’s hilly terrain. The Mada 9 is set to be available for sale in the domestic market and could potentially be showcased at international exhibitions and car shows.
